Saturday of the 3rd week in Ordinary Time

Today’s readings invite us to reflect on faith and trust in God amidst life’s challenges. In the passage from Hebrews, we are reminded of the faith of Abraham and Sarah, who despite the uncertainty and obstacles they faced, trusted in God’s promises. They were willing to step out in faith, not knowing where they were going but believing in the One who called them.

Similarly, in the Gospel of Mark, we witness the disciples’ faith being tested as they find themselves in a storm-tossed sea with Jesus asleep in the boat. Despite the raging waters and the imminent danger, Jesus calms the storm and questions their lack of faith, reminding them to trust in Him, the one who has power over all things.

These passages challenge us to examine our own faith in the midst of life’s storms. Do we trust God’s promises even when circumstances seem bleak? Do we have the faith to step out into the unknown, trusting that God will guide us?

In moments of doubt and fear, let us remember the examples of Abraham, Sarah, and the disciples. Let us hold fast to our faith, knowing that God is always with us, calming our fears and guiding us through the storms of life. May we have the courage to trust in Him completely, believing that with God, all things are possible.
