Thursday of the 3rd week in Ordinary Time

January 30, 2025

Today’s readings invite us to reflect on the importance of staying connected to our faith and living out the teachings of Jesus in our daily lives.

In the reading from Hebrews, we are reminded of the confidence and boldness we have as Christians to approach God through the sacrifice of Jesus. This passage urges us to hold fast to our faith and encourage one another in love and good deeds. As part of the community of believers, we are called to support and uplift one another in our journey of following Christ.

The Gospel of Mark further emphasizes the importance of staying faithful and attentive to the teachings of Jesus. Just as a lamp is not meant to be hidden but to provide light for all to see, our faith should shine brightly in the world. When we live according to the wisdom and love of Christ, we will receive abundantly from God and be able to share that abundance with others.

As we reflect on these readings, let us ask ourselves how we can deepen our relationship with God and live out our faith more authentically. Let us strive to be the light of Christ in the world, showing love, compassion, and generosity to all those we encounter. May we be encouraged by our community of believers and strengthen one another in our Christian journey.
