Wednesday after Epiphany

Today’s gospel reading from Mark reminds us of the miraculous event where Jesus walks on water. As the disciples struggled against the wind in their boat, Jesus came to them, walking on the water. This moment is a powerful demonstration of Jesus’ authority over the forces of nature and his ability to bring calm in the midst of chaos.

In our own lives, we often face storms that threaten to overwhelm us – whether they be physical, emotional, or spiritual. It can be easy to feel like we are out at sea, alone and struggling against the wind. But just as Jesus came to his disciples on the water, he comes to us in our moments of need.

When we cry out to Jesus in faith, he is always there to bring us peace and comfort. He invites us to trust in him, even when the storms of life rage around us. Like the disciples, we may be filled with fear and doubt, but Jesus reassures us with his presence and his words: “Take courage, it is I, do not be afraid.”

As we reflect on this gospel passage, let us remember that Jesus is always near, ready to calm the storms of our lives. Let us have faith in his power and trust in his love, knowing that he is with us in every moment, guiding us through the waters of life. May we find comfort in his presence and strength in his grace, as we journey through the challenges and triumphs of each day.
